bio

Born in Toronto, Canada in 1965, Wendy grew up in Montreal, New York and Los Angeles. She has lived in San Francisco for over 30 years.

Wendy Vasta is a contemporary abstract artist known for her vibrant, modern, and neo-pop artwork. She is based in the NOPA neighborhood of San Francisco, CA.

Wendy’s first artistic influence is her father, a professional violinist and visual artist. Her dad brought her to art museums where Wendy was first inspired by the work of Francis Bacon, Rene Magritte, Jackson Pollack  and Willem de Kooning.

Her work is characterized by a "color blast" aesthetic, often associated with mid-century modern design principles. She frequently participates in local art events and has showcased her work in various exhibitions and open studio events in the San Francisco Bay.

Wendy lives and paints in a large Victorian off Fillmore Street, a house that has been home to many artists including musicians, filmmakers and dancers.
